I started my career as a journalist/photo-journalist, in the tradition of street photographers, working with small and medium format cameras with a preference for black and white imagery. I transitioned to large format, formal, narrative processes that expressed photographic ideas sequentially in color and black and white.

My documentary style photographs present visual, social and environmental narratives amplified through precise seeing. Portraits, landscapes, architectural form, environments, and performances are my subjects of choice. Years behind cameras, standing in darkrooms, and sitting at monitors honed my vision in pursuit of print perfection. I am engaged in subjective presentations of people, places and things using photography to present ideas related to light, color, beauty, form, social dynamics and spirituality.

I am project driven. I devote time and attention to subject and ideas that evolve organically with immersion. The training, experiences and lessons of a multitude of projects inform my vision and understanding of subjects and life. I make photographs intended to show the world as I experience it: empathetically, precisely, romantically and passionately.
